Christian Schnyder, owner and principal of Los Angeles-based design firm Beleco, has revamped the interiors at Nick + Stef Steakhouse.
Located in downtown Los Angeles near the newly opened Broad Museum, the restaurant has reopened following a total renovation, which transformed its traditional style to a contemporary midcentury modern-inspired aesthetic with new furnishings and chandeliers, and a refreshed color palette with hues of blue and caramel, as well as brass accents.
The newly imagined front bar is now encased in glass with a walnut top, marble-clad sides, and leather window seating areas, while a frosted glass partition divides the adjacent formal dining room into two intimate areas. The back portion of the main dining room houses two private dining spaces, the first featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and the second located outside the main dining space and complete with brass elements, textured walls, and a walnut table.
The restaurant’s dry-aging room lies behind a marble communal table, which sits beneath an industrial-inspired chandelier, and leather banquettes that abut textured blue walls with pin lights and art curated by chef Joachim Splichal.
