The Carvery restaurant has reopened in Torremolinos, Málaga, Spain, following a relocation and nearly $1.7 million renovation. The 120-seat eatery’s redesign aims to anchor the restaurant more to its surrounding community by utilizing local craftspeople and materials.
Locally made tiles and marble from a nearby quarry dress the interiors, which bear a classically English aesthetic with a Spanish twist. UK-based restaurateur Diccon Wright infused an airiness into the semi-subterranean concrete space while also adding warmer elements such as screens to create a sense of intimacy.
Accommodating up to 60 guests, the restaurant’s outdoor terrace is fully enclosed and allows light to flood the space throughout the day.
