Whiskey Charlie has arrived at the Canopy by Hilton in Washington, DC, the brand’s first outpost in North America, which opened in November at the Wharf District. Crowning the 175-room property, the rooftop bar and lounge is crafted by New York-based design firm Krause Sawyer, which also led the hotel’s design.
Ten floors above the city’s southeastern waterfront, the venue draws its name—and the abbreviated “WC”—from the Washington Channel that it overlooks. Spread across 2,200 square feet, Whiskey Charlie’s outdoor terrace is outfitted with seating enclaves, firepits, and large planters. Anchored by an intimate bar, the glass-enclosed interior lounge is clad with reclaimed wood, porcelain, and metallic tiles. Informal décor also populates the convivial setting.
