Kempinski Hotels has announced that it will launch its first Cuban outpost later this year. Located in the heart of Old Havana in the historic Manzana de Gómez building, the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana will comprise 246 guestrooms and suites. Kempinski has tapped locally based Grupo de Turismo Gaviota to manage the property, which was first constructed in the early 1900s as part of Cuba’s first European-style shopping complex.
Accommodations will range in size from 430 to 1,614 square feet in the presidential suite, and will feature 15-foot ceilings. Amenities will include a cigar lounge, business center, a 10,760-square-foot Resense spa, and a rooftop terrace and swimming pool offering views of Old Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Three restaurants and a lobby bar will be included among the hotel’s F&B options.
