Starwood has announced plans to develop two Aloft properties in the Peruvian capital of Lima, Aloft’s first in the country.
The Aloft Lima Miraflores and Aloft Lima Costa Verde are slated to open in 2018. Both hotels will be owned and managed by Grupo Libertador, a local hospitality company that also owns and manages three Luxury Collection properties in the country as well as the Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center.
“Latin America continues to be a key priority for the Aloft brand, and we look forward to expanding our presence to Lima, one of South America’s most sought out destinations,” says Brian McGuinness, senior vice president of specialty select brands for Starwood.
The hotels are strategically located in the bustling Miraflores area to cater to global travelers, with both properties offering large, loft-like guestrooms.
Situated on the Miraflroes boardwalk, the oceanfront Aloft Lima Costa Verde will house 160 guestrooms. The 164-guestroom Aloft Lima Miraflores will be part of a multifunctional complex that includes dining and shopping, and more than 5,000 square feet of event space. The hotels will also feature Aloft staples like Re:fuel café, the Re:charge fitness center, and a Splash pool.
Aloft opened its first South American location with the Aloft Bogota Airport in 2011 and has since opened six more hotels. The Aloft Asuncion opened last month in Paraguay and six additional locations are in the South American pipeline.
