Hilton has signed on to operate a new 500-room convention center headquarters hotel in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The $140 million full-service hotel—scheduled to break ground next summer and open in 2012—will feature a large lobby atrium, a brick and glass façade, and more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space.
"The addition of this full-service convention hotel, combined with the Greater Columbus Convention Center, will allow us to compete for a larger share of our state, regional, and national convention market," says Paul Astleford, president and CEO of Experience Columbus.
The hotel is a collaboration among the Franklin County Commissioners, Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority, City of Columbus, and Nationwide Realty Investors, Inc.
