The Renaissance New York Hotel 57 has completed a $40 million makeover helmed by Jordan Mozer. The designer’s couture style starts in the main lobby area, anchored by a central heart made of blown glass. An inlaid apple blossom in the floor and throughout surfaces serves as a recurrent theme in public spaces, while a glass-enclosed spiral staircase leads to the lounge and Opia restaurant.
The boutique hotel’s 200 redesigned guestrooms include junior suites, one-bedroom suites, and two sky loft rooms on the top floor that feature hardwood floors and wraparound terraces. Accommodations are furnished with warm birch paneling, pinpoint bedside reading lamps, flatscreen TVs, plush beds fitted with 340-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, and bathrooms featuring marble tile and sinks.
