Pebblebrook Hotel Trust brought on Andrea Dawson Sheehan, CEO and art director of Seattle-based Dawson Design Associates, to rebrand Vintage Portland, housed in a circa-1894 building.

In the lobby, light fixtures made from plumbing pipes hug the ceiling over reclaimed oak flooring complemented by black metal detailing.

A backlit image of the Bacchus bar’s namesake, the Greek god of wine, is playfully modernized in sepia tones with tattoos and nipple rings.

A Boston-based wine specialist was commissioned to decorate the lounge’s backdrop—a sealed blackboard wall—with notes from his lectures.

Converted from a small meeting space, a game room sits at the top of the stair and features shuffleboard, a pool table, darts, board games, and flatscreen TVs where guests can play video games.

Guestrooms’ rustic wood headboards are inspired by the wagons that traversed the Oregon Trail, while the drapery’s custom grape motif was originally commissioned for the Vintage Seattle.

The top floor features a group of suites dubbed the Sky Lofts in reference to pre-existing, sloped skylights.
