Owners Margot Stängle and Ralph Hüsgen transformed the former 17th-century Tourrel d’Almeran home in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence into the seven-suite Hôtel de Tourrel.

A heavy wooden door marks the entrance to the hotel, which is swathed in light-colored stone. 

The design of the restaurant calls on the colors of Provence: olive, green, blue, blue-gray, and warm yellow and orange tones, while the walls are painted crisp white and lined with low chartreuse banquettes covered in velvet.

Floor-to-ceiling shelves house an impressive collection in the wine bar, which features a communal table and opens up to the street.

In room Numero Trois, Stängle uncovered a 400-year-old stone wall belonging to the adjacent museum building and left it exposed.

A bathroom with freestanding tub is separated from the sleeping area by a mirrored screen in Numero Deux.

Numero Deux also boasts a circa-18th-century marble fireplace and two plush chairs in a lime green hue.

A glass-encased tub and bathroom— which can be made private via sliding white curtains—is located adjacent to the bed in the top-floor Numero Sept suite.

Numero Sept offers a mezzanine and private terrace offering vistas over the nearby rooftops.

Hotel de Tourrel’s outdoor pool—appropriate considering the area’s 300 days of sunshine a year.
