When Michael Nahabedian and Carrie Nahabedian sought to open their second restaurant, they contacted their relative Tom Nahabedian, a founding principal at Chicago-based BUREAU of Architecture and Design, to give life to Brindille.

Brindille is characterized by feminine qualities and soft design elements, such as forest-inspired art, crafted by locally based artist Lora Fosberg, running the length of one wall in the dining room.

The branch theme was extended into other interior aspects, including light fixtures. “I wanted the decorative lighting to play a significant role yet not overwhelm it, so I chose playful fixtures with a burst of glass objects that remind me of new plant growth,” says Nahabedian.

A dining cove positioned under a plaster dome provides additional seating and references a similar space found in NAHA.

In the washroom, a stained walnut lithoverde stone was used for the countertop. Other dining room elements were incorporated, such as the radius corners of the mirror that are repeated in the coves of the pale pink coffered ceiling in the dining room, storefront, and plaster wall.

The bar area is highlighted in walnut and antique brass.
