Constructed in 1906, the David Nathaniel-designed structure that houses the Edison George Town, Penang served as a private residence as well as an administrative building for the Japanese government during World War II.

Original ironwork on the hotel’s external grills, frets, and columns have been refinished.

In retaining 90 percent of the existing architecture, Blu Water Studio created spaces unique to the layout, such as in the central courtyard.

Porcelain blue and jade green wall panels in the lobby are offset by traditional elements such as velvet seating and silk rugs.

The Lounge, a breakfast spot and salon, is equipped with contemporary, turquoise-toned cabinetry and refurbished wall panels.

In colonial-style guestrooms, light colored walls and furnishings contrast black frames and authentic Peranakan tiles to create a tranquil space.
