Designer Yasumichi Morita of Tokyo-based Glamorous transformed a house from Japanese master architect and craftsman Koichi Kinoshita into the 13-room Hiramatsu Hotels & Resorts Atami.

The former house demonstrates classic Sukiya-zukuri, residential-style design principles with natural materials and a minimalist aesthetic.

The hotel blends European flair with Japanese elements and handpicked artwork.

Traditional shoji screens in the restaurant contrast with the dining room view of the rooftop reflecting pool, which is clad in black tiles.

All guestrooms are equipped with a private onsen, or hot spring bath, positioned toward Sagami Bay.
