Located in a building next to Denver’s Union Station, Honor Society is a new fast-casual restaurant that nods to its rustic roots with a contemporary narrative crafted by locally based Rowland+Broughton Architecture (R+B). A prominent use of wood and stone helps to create a barn-meets-loft aesthetic.

The restaurant features a neutral palette with natural materials, such as horizontal wood planks to the left of the entrance that bear the words “Honor Thy Belly” in white lettering.

Juxtaposing the polished concrete flooring, an open kitchen features reclaimed wood along its perimeter, which complements adjacent walls with similar wood cladding. The order queue’s black railing nods to steel cattle guards.

Dropped tin ceilings with a stamped geometric tile motif feature inset LED lighting and suspended fixtures repurposed from barrel drums.

Modeled after fencing typical of pig enclosures, a wire screen set within barn beams forms a wall between the main dining room and an elevated bar space.

Popularly used as siding on farm buildings, metal wainscot lines a wall in the bar area with Honor Society branding inspired by farm crops.

Simple blackened steel appears riveted along the front of the bar, which is highlighted by modern glass pendant lights.
