The two-year, $15 million renovation of Hotel Arena includes a new 16-room wing, restaurant, and meeting spaces that now connect the hotel to the 30-acre Oosterpark, the first public park in Amsterdam.

The entrance to the hotel was moved so it is now right on the park, while most of that side of the building was opened up to bring the outside in.

Elements such as the hotel’s grand, wrought-iron stairways recall the property’s 131-year-old legacy.

Expansive glass windows maintain a visual connection to the park, while the muted palette complements the hotel’s earthen aesthetic.

Natural materials, abundant greenery, and ochre tiles span the onsite restaurant Park.

The lush yet minimal guestrooms in the new wing are furnished in Scandinavian style.

New guestrooms feature a natural material palette that includes whitewashed oak, leather, and carpeting crafted from recycled materials.
