Guests enter upon a lobby floor decked out in locally sourced polished stone and black granite laid out in a checkerboard pattern. The original ceiling’s intricate geometric molding was retained and restored in a slate color.

The hotel’s highlight is a three-level rooftop area with an approximately 30-foot-long pool and natural sandstone tiling. “The biggest challenge was preserving the building’s original architectural beauty,” says Cabré. “But the feel of the house is relatively unspoiled.”
