Housed within the light and airy Kimpton De Witt, Wyers Bar & Restaurant from local firm Studio Modijefsky serves as a darker contrast to the hotel with a weathered wall in clay-colored brown that welcomes guests into the moody space.

Metal tubes, which refer to threads used in weaving machines, stretch all the way up to the ceiling and dress the back wall of the bar to form glass shelves that display the bottles.

Threads above the show kitchen suggest bobbins, while a herringbone-patterned floor is a nod to woven fabric.

Portraits of mysterious young women from a Dutch photographer grace the restaurant’s walls, in reference to the four daughters of fabric firm owner J.P. Wyers of which the restaurant is named.

The backrests of the olive-toned banquettes are modeled after stacked fabric rolls, while light fixtures grow from the sculptural wooden booths to make playful curves that disappear into the walls.

Coffee takeaway spot Miss Louisa pays homage to its former use as newspaper offices with black and white graphic elements, including a lightbox made out of a steel frame grid that refers to letterpresses and printing machines.
