Designed with electronic music lovers in mind, a guestroom at the Valencia Lounge Hostel features pops of bright turquoise, decorative ceramic pineapples, handmade lamps and tables, and a wall graphic spelling out “Sounds.”

The hostel’s entry lounge is marked by vintage chairs, colorful existing cement floor tiles, and hanging marble, granite, and leather lamps inspired by the Memphis movement.

Memphis-style lamps in wood and painted cork—and another pineapple—appear again in an additional hangout space, while custom tables with gold legs also show up again in the guestrooms.

Bright wall graphics, paint, and furnishings enliven one corner of the lounge.

Green leaves set in circular frames and a black and white vinyl checkerboard act as wall art in a pink-hued room designed with young women who love fashion and blogging in mind. 

Channeling the owner’s hobby, the surf-inspired room includes two of the client’s old surfboards enhanced with paint and vinyl.

Geometric figures painted on the wall over a table for two have black lines made from elastic cords that create volume and the illusion of movement.
