HD Expo 2019 continued with a slew of programming that examined the future of hospitality
HD vice president and Hospitality Design editor in chief Stacy Shoemaker Rauen joined Sydell Group CEO Andrew Zobler for a keynote conversation. Zobler highlighted the company’s emphasis on adaptive reuse where he touched on the evolution of the NoMad and Line brands. Says Zobler: “The idea behind the Line is like a fashion line. There’s a way of thinking, there’s a style, but every season it can be completely different. The dress may not be the same but you can see a point of view. It’s probably my favorite brand for that reason because it’s the most Sydell.”
The annual Owners’ Roundtable was also held, during which nearly 40 owners engaged with a sold out crowd of designers and other hospitality stakeholders on the benefits of collaboration in the industry.
Sandler Seating also took home the top prize for this year’s IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Competition, which honors projects debuting on the show floor across 16 categories. Brands including JANUS et Cie, Shaw, and Tarkett were also acknowledged in the awards program.
