Luxury boutique hotel Casa Silencio is a marriage of creative forces between spirit brand Mezcal El Silencio and Mexican architect Alejandro D’Acosta, known for his unique style of sustainable architecture which includes the creation of elevated, modern spaces that use reclaimed and raw materials.
The founders of El Silencio and D’Acosta drew inspiration for Casa Silencio through travels across Mexico’s wine country and the distilleries of Scotland. Casa Silencio celebrates the mystical landscape with striking spaces and features. Martina D’Acosta is helming the interior design which nods to the spirit of the region throughout public spaces and six guestrooms, with natural materials such as steel, wood, and stone as well as a muted, moody color scheme inspired by the surrounding landscape that brings the outdoors inside.
The project, opening in late summer of 2021, is set on a 16-acre enclave near the archeological ruins of Mitla at El Silencio’s sustainable Mezcal distillery in Oaxaca, Mexico.
