Oxford Hotels & Resorts has opened Hotel Audrey in the Magnificent Mile shopping district in Chicago. Oxford worked closely with the investment firm Fillmore Capital Partners to implement the strategic repositioning of the hotel.
The latest incarnation of what was originally developed as the Barclay hotel, the 29-story Hotel Audrey is billed as a modern boutique lifestyle hotel, offering 216 guestrooms at 350-plus square feet and suites at 650-plus square feet, each with views of the city. The hotel features a large fitness center. Plans call for opening of the rooftop bar, meeting spaces, and café in 2021.
“The name Audrey means ‘noble strength,’ and we felt this was a fitting moniker for a hotel that’s emerging during this crisis. The new incarnation of this asset as Hotel Audrey brings refinement to the guest experience while encouraging uninhibited discovery and spontaneity. This is the kind of energy we know travelers are yearning for after months of isolation,” says John W. Rutledge, founder, chairman, and CEO of Oxford Hotels & Resorts and its parent company Oxford Capital Group.
