Maybach, a sub-brand of Mercedes-Benz, has debuted Maybach Ocean Club. The superyacht membership concept translates the brand’s design language into a lifestyle experience at sea.
Maybach Ocean Club’s membership model
Developed in close collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Design, the venture offers access to global itineraries and bespoke service without the obligations of ownership.
At the core of the concept is a shared-ownership model that positions members as co-owners rather than passengers. Each member purchases a share of a yacht that grants them four weeks per year in one of 30 residential-style suites. Suite assignments rotate per stay, yet all accommodations are identical in size and layout.
“We saw an opportunity to create a new model that enhances the joys of yachting without the burden of management and maintenance”, says Michael Hehn, cofounder and managing director of Maybach Ocean Club. “This club reflects Maybach’s spirit of innovation, but also speaks to something timeless—sharing special places and experiences with people who matter most in our lives.”

Launching with Beyond Horizons
The inaugural vessel, Beyond Horizons, is a 508-foot ultra-luxury superyacht designed around the concept of barefoot luxury. The ship features 30 generously scaled suites—each accommodation spans nearly 800 square feet and includes a private balcony—along with six additional junior suites.
The vessel features a variety of amenities including a fine-dining restaurant and lounge with rotating culinary concepts, as well as a spa with treatment rooms, sauna, and wellness zones. There is also a fully equipped fitness center with yoga facilities and longevity-focused programming. An expansive beach club with direct sea access anchors life on deck.
“Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach are credited with building one of the first motorboats powered by an internal combustion engine; this legacy of innovation at sea informed our design process and inspired us to go beyond expectations,” says Gorden Wagener, chief design officer at Mercedes-Benz.
