Chicago-based Harken Interiors has completed a comprehensive soft‑good renovation of the Louie, a Davenport Hotel, repositioning the historic Spokane, Washington property (formerly the Lusso) through an elevated storytelling approach.
A refreshed identity rooted in Louis Davenport’s legacy
Drawing from the life and influence of hotelier Louis Davenport, Harken Interiors wove subtle historical cues into a modern framework.
Custom carpets are inspired by Davenport’s signature curated artworks, while botanical objects reference his fascination with the Lilac City’s flora. These elements reappear throughout the public spaces, which unfold with an art‑gallery‑meets‑library sensibility, complete with antiques, pressed flowers, botanical books, and vintage cooking accessories.
The 48 guestrooms and suites draw directly from the aesthetic of Davenport’s apartment via a warm palette of peach, burgundy, olive green, gold, and lavender.
Lighting is central to the ambiance as well. The scheme combines moody and natural illumination to highlight furnishings, textures, and preserved architectural features.
The Louie is now part of KSL Capital Partner’s Marriott Autograph Collection portfolio.
