On the heels of InterContinental Hotels Group’s announcement that it would bring its voco to the Americas, the brand has opened its first hotel in Northern Europe. A conversion project, the voco Villach in Austria is Villach’s largest hotel with 130 rooms and five suites. Inspired by the Drau River, vibrant colors meld with contemporary interiors throughout the hotel.
The property also includes restaurant LAGANA, led by chef Hermann Andritsch, and LAGANA Bar. The terrace offers views of the Drau river, the historic city center, and the mountain landscape.
The brand will also debut in Germany with the opening of voco Dusseldorf Seestern later this year, followed by voco Frankfurt Airport West in 2022. In the neighboring Netherlands, voco the Hague is set to open next spring.
