Hospitality Design (HD) is partnering once again with West Elm for the third annual HD/West Elm Student Product Design Competition. Current students and those who have been out of school for up to a year are eligible to enter the contest. The deadline to enter is Friday, April 16th.
This year, the competition is focused on designing a family of lighting intended for hospitality and commercial spaces. The winning designer will receive a $5,000 prize from West Elm and have their product produced by West Elm.
Light fixtures should be aesthetically neutral enough to fit in multiple environments, yet have a distinct design perspective and seamlessly blend into the West Elm vernacular. The collection should consist of a mix of hard-wired and portable pieces including:
