San Francisco-based BAR Architects has announced the promotion of four staff members to senior associate positions.
With more than two-decades worth of experience in the industry, Patricia Centeno has dedicated her career to multifamily and affordable housing. Some of her standout projects with BAR include San Francisco’s mixed-use infill development 38 Dolores, the multifamily Alchemy by Alta community, and the dual mixed-use multifamily buildings in San Mateo’s Bay Meadows. Centeno is also a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California, and the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition.
During his 30-year career, Tom Nelson has been involved with an array of projects from hospitality to retail to higher education and healthcare. Working with BAR, Nelson has completed projects such as the Mission Bay Housing at the University of California, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley’s Tech Housing. He is a member of the Society of College and University Planners, the Urban Land Institute, and the U.S. Green Building Council.
Zach Prowda has been behind such BAR projects as the mixed-use Seawall development for the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco as well as the Alchemy by Alta community. He received a master of architecture from the University of Oregon and his bachelor of architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
Bradley Sugarman has been designing multifamily, commercial, and hospitality projects for more than 20 years. During his career, he has developed the master plan for Foster Square, the 15-acre mixed-use project in Foster City, California, which also included the affordable Foster Square Senior Housing development.
The 90-person firm is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
