New York-based design practice Perkins+Will has appointed Brent Capron as its new interior design director at the firm’s New York office. With more than 20 years experience in the design industry, Capron will lead creative efforts in the Northeast region.
“I was drawn to Perkins+Will because of the quality of the firm’s work, its record of innovation, and its cross-pollination of architecture and interior design, which aligns with my skillset,” Capron says. “I’m excited to join the talented team of designers here in the New York office, and I look forward to doing great things with them.”
A Colorado native, Capron received his bachelor in architecture from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He began his career in Los Angeles before relocating to New York where he contributed to major projects, including MetLife’s global headquarters and offices for MTV Networks Entertainment. He has also received numerous accolades for his work including the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Northern California Interior Design Award for the Qantas One World Business Lounge at the Los Angeles International Airport. Capron also received an IIDA Northern California People’s Choice Award for his work on Westfield’s North American headquarters. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects.
