Jacksonville, Florida-based manufacturer and hospitality resource Charter Furniture has expanded its footprint on the East Coast. The 31-year-old company, now owned by Brown Jordan Inc., recently opened a new 260,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Siler City, North Carolina. The new space joins existing outposts in Irwindale, California and Liberty, North Carolina—growing the company’s bicoastal presence to more than one million square feet. Charter remains the sole company producing indoor hospitality furnishings in Brown Jordan portfolio’s.
“In a time when many industries and businesses across the country are struggling, we are committed to doing what we do best: being a strategic and reliable partner to our customers,” says Rick Dawson, division president of Charter Furniture. “We have achieved this by re-evaluating our operations to best align with client needs and continuing to develop a solid base for growth.”
Dawson continues, “As part of Brown Jordan Inc., Charter Furniture is backed by a diversified portfolio of brands that are regarded for exceptional manufacturing and design, wide distribution, and are equipped to outfit a variety of markets—multi-family, residential, as well as indoor/outdoor hospitality and commercial properties. This validates our strength and underscores Charter’s reputation as an ideal collaborator in that we are not only financially stable, but, also, are here to stay.”
