Christopher Norton, former COO and global product president for Four Seasons will join lifestyle and fitness giant Equinox as CEO of its developing hotel brand. Norton, who has nearly three decades of experience in the industry, will oversee all aspects of the company’s hospitality business including execution of its growth strategy.
“The Equinox philosophy of achieving a balanced life resonated with me both personally and professionally,” Norton says. “Designing premiere guest experiences with holistic health in mind is already an inherent part of my DNA and I see tremendous opportunity for the Equinox brand to redesign the luxury consumer experience in hospitality.”
During his 28 years with Four Seasons, Norton managed global hotel operations while mapping out the brand’s future product vision with design and construction.
Equinox’s projected 50 international hotel properties—the first of which is designed by Yabu Pushelberg and slated to open in New York’s Hudson Yards development in 2019—will be targeted toward the company’s high performance-oriented clientele and emphasize science-grounded, holistic wellness. The brand operates 82 upscale clubs across the U.S. and in London and Toronto.
