Equinox has appointed Josh Wyatt as president of its new hotel business. The lifestyle and fitness brand announced plans to launch a hotel arm in 2015, with the debut of a flagship property in New York by 2019. Wyatt will oversee the growth of real estate operations for the brand, which is poised to eventually reach a portfolio of more than 50 hotels.
Designed by Yabu Pushelberg, the upcoming debut property in New York’s Hudson Yards will reflect the brand’s luxury aesthetic and also house an onsite 60,000-square-foot Equinox club.
Wyatt was previously a partner and senior advisor for Patron Capital, helping to launch its hospitality and leisure branches. He also served as co-owner and CSO of Generator Hostels, overseeing growth of the brand into 10 countries.
