New York-based Equinox Holdings Inc., a major fitness center corporation, will make its debut in the hotel industry with its own signature hospitality brand geared toward fitness-centric travelers.
The brand’s first property is already under development by Related Companies on the West side of Manhattan at Hudson Yards and will be designed by Toronto and New York-based Yabu Pushelberg.
Amenities will include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a restaurant, and the company’s largest fitness center to measure 60,000 square feet. Some future properties may feature a fitness center nearby rather than onsite, though all will be open to guests as well as club members worldwide.

Equinox plans to open as many as 75 international properties and is currently attempting to raise several billion dollars to finance the project.
The New York location is expected to open in 2018 with a Los Angeles property scheduled 2019.
