Chicago-based the Gettys Group has announced the promotion of longtime company leader Dan Welborn to the role of principal of strategy and design. The new position will link Welborn’s architecture and design knowledge with his business acumen.
Welborn has worked with the Gettys Group for nearly 15 years, collaborating on projects including the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa rebuild in Florida and the launch of the Ritz Carlton Chicago. Welborn went on to open the firm’s South California office, while building its reputation in Asian markets as well.
“Dan’s magic lies in his ability to walk into a new business meeting, take out his sketch pad and pen and envision projects for the client,” says Gettys Group president Andrew Fay. “His extensive knowledge of hospitality projects coupled with his strategic vision allows us to begin the collaborative project process in a smart and efficient way.”
