Furthering its global development plans, Hard Rock International has appointed Leong Wy Joon as senior vice president of hotel development for Asia and India.
Leong will be responsible for securing new development opportunities, working with development partners, and brand growth in the regions.
He most recently served as executive director for property conglomerate Berjaya Land, where he headed the company’s hotel division and was responsible for the operations and profitability of properties in Malaysia, Vietnam, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and the UK. Before joining Berjaya Land in 2008, Leong began his career in accounting before serving as finance manager for ProMark Strategies in 2000. Three years later, he was hired on as an accountant for Hotel Plaza Limited, where he was responsible for accounting, financial reporting, business planning, and budgeting.
