The latest Construction Pipeline Trend Report from Lodging Econometrics shows that Dallas currently boasts a pipeline of 128 projects and 15,682 guestrooms—representing the third highest portfolio of projects under construction in the U.S., with 40 projects and 5,170 guestrooms in development. The report also indicates 68 projects and 8,334 guestrooms are to begin construction in the next 12 months while 20 projects and 2,178 guestrooms are currently in early planning.
Dallas also added the second-highest number of projects—behind Nashville—to its pipeline year-over-year (YOY) in the U.S., with 27 projects and 2,771 guestrooms. Nineteen projects and 2,303 guestrooms have been announced as under construction, an increase of 90 percent for projects YOY. Dallas also showed a 70-percent increase in its scheduled construction pipeline, adding 28 projects and 3,619 guestrooms.
Projects and guestrooms in early planning did decrease of 50 percent YOY, dropping 20 projects and 3,151 guestrooms.
