Chicago-based Hyatt Hotels has announced its acquisition of Exhale for an undisclosed price. Founded in New York in 2002, the wellness and spa brand Exhale, which offers boutique fitness classes and spa services, operates 25 locations across the U.S. and the Caribbean, both freestanding and within hotels. The purchase marks Hyatt’s second wellness company acquisition this year following its absorption of Miraval Group in January for $375 million.
Hyatt will work to expand the Exhale portfolio within properties located in high-impact markets, including more resort settings. Existing Exhale outposts will remain unaltered, including those outfitted within non-Hyatt hotels, to maximize the growing wellness tourism market.
