IA Interior Architects announced the opening of its Miami office, which is located in Coral Gables, and led by newly appointed managing director Marlene Liriano.
Liriano’s primary focus will be building the office and practice, and strengthening IA’s presence in the Miami market. She brings 30 years of experience to the role. Prior to joining IA, she served as principal and vice president of HOK’s Miami, and was a principal and interior design director at Perkins + Will for 12 years.
“Miami is a growing and exciting market in and of itself, and our presence here in the gateway to Latin America will also allow us to continue to grow our LATAM client base,” says Liriano. “I am honored to join IA and am looking forward to working together with my colleagues throughout the firm on interesting and new opportunities.”
Other team members at the Miami office include George De La Hoz, who joins as technical director, and brings 30 years of experience practicing architecture. The project designer is Gisselle Gema, who previously worked at HOK, and specializes in commercial interiors, healthcare, aviation, and hospitality. Adam Treiser, whose portfolio includes work with financial services firms, is a job captain. Denise Paulino joins as junior designer.
“Miami is a very important location for the firm and Marlene’s leadership and knowledge of the market is significant for us,” say David Bourke and Tom Powers, IA’s executive directors. “From the first moment we met Marlene she felt like part of the IA family. Her commitment to workplace strategy and design align with ours and she has developed a team of talented people and clients in very short order.”
