Marlene Liriano has been selected to serve as the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) president for 2016-2017.
“For years, I have looked to the association as an entity that truly represents commercial interior design,” she says. “It also provides an international platform for those individuals that are willing to dedicate their time to pushing the profession forward, providing valuable research and insight to our clients, and allowing students to learn more about the interior design profession.”
Liriano, managing director of IA Interior Architects’ Miami office, has listed the need to foster opportunities for young designers and a focus on growth in Latin America as integral points of her presidency.
“Marlene’s passion for design, her leadership at top global firms, and her expertise in the industry make her the ideal candidate to serve as the next president,” says IIDA executive vice president and CEO Cheryl S. Durst.
