According to the latest United States Construction Pipeline Trend Report from Lodging Econometrics, Los Angeles is leading the nation in projects in early planning, with 36 project for 6,343 guestrooms. Five of the projects and 672 of the guestrooms are part of forthcoming Hilton properties while 20 projects and 4,372 guestrooms have not yet made branding decisions. The largest of the unbranded developments is a 1,000-room downtown property slated for an opening in 2020.
LA has a total of 104 projects and 17,912 guestrooms in its overall pipeline. Twenty-eight projects and 6,030 guestrooms are under construction, while 40 projects and 5,539 guestrooms are scheduled to begin construction within the next 12 months.
