Global architecture firm HKS has announced that Luciano Mazza is now director of hospitality, architecture, based in the London office. Mazza first joined the firm in 2006, lending his design expertise to projects including the Indian wellness spa Ananda in the Sahyadris, the Fairmont Taghazout Bay in Morocco, and the recently opened South Kensington Club in London. His predecessor Luis Zapiain will relocate to the company’s Dallas headquarters.
Mazza’s past experience includes architecture work on the seminal headquarters and factory for luxury car manufacturer Bugatti near Modena, Italy. He later established his own practice in Sri Lanka, which was commissioned for projects by the island’s Italian and Vatican embassies. Born in Italy, Mazza holds an architecture degree from the Venice Institute of Architecture, and is a member of the Italian Register of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects, and Conservation Architects.
