Marc L’Italien has joined HGA Architects and Engineers as its latest arts, community, and education (ACE) principal. Working out of the firm’s San Francisco office, L’Italien will provide leadership and his strategic planning expertise to HGA’s ACE Practice Group.
“I have followed and respected HGA for many years,” L’Italien says. “The firm’s approach to design aligns perfectly with my own process. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and perspective to HGA’s diverse national practice. Together, we’re going to make a greater impact on the built environment through the design of arts, community, and education projects across the nation.”
Formerly serving for more than 25 years with EHDD Architecture, including 15 years as a design principal, L’Italien has contributed to major projects including the Exploratorium at San Francisco’s Piers 15/17, the Pacific Visions expansion at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California, and the Pritzker Family Children’s Zoo the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago.
L’Italien holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, and earned his master of architecture from Yale University. He is a registered architect in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
