Meyer Davis Studio founders Will Meyer and Gray Davis have chronicled their firm’s nearly two-decade history in the new book Made to Measure: Meyer Davis, Architecture and Interiors. Written by Davis, Meyers, and New York Times Style section founding editor Dan Shaw, the visually rich book documents the process of designing and executing major projects such as Miami’s 1 Hotel South Beach, the W Chicago Lakeshore, and New York’s Paramount Hotel.
The book is split into two sections, focusing on residences and public projects, respectively. An array of signature projects is highlighted through hundreds of photographs, plans, and drawings.
“Meyer Davis are designers of environments, and the point of their work, which can be delivered in many forms, is the pursuit of happiness in the user,” New York designer David Netto writes in the book’s foreword. “Their style is original but, in the end, also seems inevitable, and after you see a project by Meyer Davis you think, ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’”
Founded in 1999, the New York-based firm guides a team of more than 60 with a humanist philosophy to create affirming and inspiring built environments.
