The 41st Annual NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference was hosted yesterday by the New York University School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism at the New York Marriott Marquis. This year’s gathering honored Wyndham Hotels & Resorts president and CEO Geoff Ballotti with the Hotel News Now Stephen W. Brener Silver Plate Award. Programming included a talk from the Honorable Ricardo Rosselló, governor of Puerto Rico, on the importance of tourism and innovation in the island’s recovery from Hurricane Maria. Hilton president and CEO Christopher J. Nassetta joined New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin in conversation as well.
The annual panel, “The CEOs Check In: A View from the Top” highlighted InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) CEO Keith Barr; Accor chairman and CEO Sébastien M. Bazin; Hyatt Hotels Corporation president and CEO Mark S. Hoplamazian; Patrick Pacious, president and CEO of Choice Hotels International; and Arne Sorenson, president and CEO of Marriott International.
