Perkins&Will has announced four promotions in its New York office. Jennifer Graham, Brenda Smith, and Matthew Malone have each been elevated to principals, and firmwide director of communication Rachel Rose has been promoted to associate principal.
“Our latest promotions reflect the strength of our leadership within the New York studio of Perkins&Will, as well as the industry,” says managing director Bill Harris. “They’re our way of celebrating the individuals who make a remarkable impact on our work and culture through excellence and innovation. We are thrilled to recognize the contributions of Jennifer, Matthew, Brenda, and Rachel.”
A newly appointed principal of corporate interiors, Graham is also the leader of the studio’s Social Purpose program, a firmwide initiative to donate resources and time to organizations whose values align with Perkins&Will. She was named the vice president of action for IIDA NY in 2020 as well.
With more than 25 years of design expertise, Smith first joined Perkins&Will in Atlanta in 2008 before relocating to New York in 2019. The new health principal also maintains a background as a nurse in radiology oncology.
Bringing forth more than 20 years of planning and design experience, Malone will now serve as principal of the studio’s science and technology practice.
Finally, Rose, a former journalist, will continue to serve all 25 Perkins&Will studios across the globe, while also contributing to sister firms like Pierre-Yves Rochon and Schmidt Hammer Lassen.
