Five distinguished industry professionals will be inducted into Hospitality Design’s Platinum Circle hall of fame on Tuesday, November 10th during a gala celebration at Cipriani 25 Broadway in New York. The honor is bestowed on those who have made significant impacts and contributions to the hospitality industry and its many facets, including design, architecture, ownership/management, and purchasing.
As we continue to navigate new changes and the implications of COVID-19, this year above all others, the Platinum Circle Awards gala provides an opportunity to celebrate and recognize those who have dedicated their careers to enhancing our beloved community.
The 2020 honorees are:
Since founding the Shanghai-based interdisciplinary architectural design practice Neri&Hu in 2004, partners Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu have imparted their core vision—responding to a global worldview through overlapping design disciplines for a new paradigm in architecture—to product lines and projects around the world. Significant hospitality projects include the Waterhouse in Shanghai, Le Meridien Zhengzhou, Alila in Kuala Lumpur, Kimpton Da An in Taiwan, Sukhothai, and the Shanghai EDITION.
Larry Traxler is celebrating his 11th year as Global Head of Design at Hilton. He oversees the architecture, design, construction, and renovation for all 18 of Hilton’s luxury, lifestyle, full, and focused-service hotel brands.Â
With a degree from University of Texas School of Architecture, Jennifer Johanson joined the late Eric Engstrom in 1987 and helped to establish EDG Design as an innovator in the field of restaurant design. As managing partner, Jennifer led the firm’s evolution from a three-person team to its current status as a hospitality design and branding powerhouse with studios in California, Texas, and Singapore.
Brad Wilson is president and co-partner of Atelier Ace and the Ace Hotel Group, where he oversees growth and operations, and helps create new hotels and collaborative projects. Back to his roots, surrounded by innovative energy, he joins the Atelier team in developing projects and culture, and creative processes that seek to transform the industry.
