This year’s Sleep + Eat conference will take place at the London Olympia November 20th and 21st. The free conference recently unveiled its programming agenda for 2018, with Andrew Zobler, CEO and founder of the Sydell Group, set to kick off the event this year with a speech focused on the current state of the hospitality industry.
Day One programming will include examinations of the rise-and-rise of hotels in London from Bruce Robertson, managing director of the Standard London, and Mark Bruce, director of EPR Architects. A global design perspective will be discussed by international architects including Geraldine Dohogne of Zannier Hotels; Therese Virserius of Viserius Studio; and Irina and Olga Sundukovy of Moscow-based design firm Sundukovy Sisters. This year’s Design Duos series will include Muza Lab co-founders Inge Moore and Nathan Hutchins discussing luxury hospitality design. A talk from Horwath HTL global business director Jamie Chappell on the hotel turnaround game, as well as development roundtables, will conclude the first day.
Day Two will begin with a keynote presentation from neuroscientist Dr. Alanna Hare, who explore the science of sleep and its relationship to creativity. Also featured on the second day will be the Sleep Sets—guestroom concepts crafted by a series of design firms for non-hotel brands. Additional sessions will include discussions on lighting and sound.
