Architect Alan Jones is temporarily stepping down from his role as president of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for personal reasons. Jones, who was appointed to the position just seven months ago, is not expected to return to work for at least four weeks. RIBA honorary secretary Kerr Robertson will assume Jones’s duties in the interim.
In an email to the RIBA Council on March 31st, Jones wrote, “I appreciate this comes at a time when there are extraordinary demands on everyone and I can only ask that you reinforce your support to our staff and senior officers during this period.”
