Designer Roger Thomas has invested in luxury furniture and lighting brand Quintus.
Having acquired the Los Angeles-based company in 2014, Jobst Blachy will remain president.
Thomas will collaborate with Blachy in developing product strategy and market approach. “I am not a trained or accomplished designer,” says Blachy. “Bringing someone of Roger’s talent and deep historical understanding of the art and design worlds on board is a tremendous asset for us.”
“I look forward to contributing design conversation, opinion, point of view, and direction,” says Thomas. “Quintus has an exciting opportunity to grow and create a new place for itself as routes to market evolve in the industry.”
Primary objectives will include investing in both direct sales relationships and improving the brand’s online customer experience. Quintus is also planning to launch a new residential furniture collection next month.
Currently Wynn Design and Development’s executive vice president of design, Thomas works with Steve Wynn, founder of Wynn Resorts, to design property interiors and acts as principal of the Roger Thomas Collection. Distributed by 17 manufacturers across commercial and consumer markets, the product collection includes furniture, textiles, wallcoverings, hardware, carpets, accessories, and gems.
Blachy previously served as CEO of Los Angeles-based furnishings manufacturer Rose Tarlow Melrose House.
