Rowland + Broughton has added three team members to its Aspen studio. Kurt Peterson and Derek Keil join as project architects, and Jan Pfeifer joins as accountant.
Peterson brings construction administration and technical experience as both a designer and builder on projects in the Roaring Fork Valley, Denver, and Macau. Most recently he worked as a job captain at Land + Shelter in Carbondale, Colorado. He also worked as a carpenter at Tom Rubin Construction in Carbondale, and a framer at Grand Avenue Builders in Glenwood Springs. Project types ranged from solar homes to equestrian ranches to the remodel of a golf clubhouse and driving range. He received his bachelor’s degree in environmental design from the School of Architecture & Planning at UC Colorado-Boulder.
Keil contributes project design and management experience, as well as skill with architectural computer software. Most recently, he worked as an architect at Revuelta Architecture International in Miami and prior to that, as COO and project manager at Luckey and an intern architect at Svigals + Partners, both in New Haven, Connecticut. Keil has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Yale University, where he has been a fellow of Morse College since 2011, and is also a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Pfeifer has worked for many years with Aspen businesses. Most recently, she was the controller at the Aspen Square Condominium Association. Before that, she provided services to the Inn at Aspen and Aspen Skiing Company, as well as her own company. She has her master’s degree in mathematics from Brigham Young University, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Montana College.
“Adding these three talented and experienced professionals to our team helps to reinforce our goal of providing a multi-faceted realm of services to our clients and supports the flourishing culture of our studios,” says Izzi Wagner, director of culture at Rowland + Broughton. “That we continue to grow in both Aspen and Denver is a testament to our collaborative nature and the commitment and dedication of our firm as a whole.”
