A multifaceted think tank of 35 architects and interior designers, Rowland + Broughton (R+B) has announced the addition of two new team members to its Aspen studio. Will Young has joined as senior project manager, and Carrera Shea joins as interior designer. The company also has a Denver office.
Young brings 25 years of experience to his role, having developed sustainable, award winning projects from Aspen to Germany. For the past 17 years, he has held positions in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley, most recently as senior project architect and lead designer at Charles Cunniffe Architects in Aspen. Prior to that, he spent time in Germany working at Reinhardt, Zohner & Partners and Schaudt Architekten DBA. He is also an artist and sculptor affiliated with Colorado Mountain College, Carbondale Clay Center, and the Wyly Annex. He earned both bachelor and master of architecture degrees from Montana State University.
Shea returns to Aspen after spending several years as principal and designer of Carrera Shea Design in Newport Beach, California. Prior to her career as a designer, Carrera managed operations and sales at Polar Revolution in Aspen and worked in the institutional and financial fields in Los Angeles. Carrera earned a bachelor’s degree in business economics from UC Santa Barbara and an associate’s degree in interior design from the Interior Designer’s Institute in Newport Beach.
“We’re excited to add two highly skilled, collaborative and supportive team members to our Aspen studio,” says R+B director of culture Izzi Wagner. “Between our Aspen and Denver studios, we’ve added a dozen new members to the R+B team over the last twelve months. Encouraging everyone to grow and flourish professionally and personally ensures the strength of our firm as a whole.”
