Richmond, Virginia-based 3north appointed architect Stephen Perkins as principal. Perkins will work from 3north’s Washington, DC office. Perkins has 35 years of collaborative global design and design management experience, including luxury hotels and resorts to multifamily, corporate, and government work.

Perkins co-founded ForrestPerkins in 1998 and shared leadership of the firm’s global architecture and interior design practice from Washington, DC Notable projects include the Jefferson in Washington, DC; La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California; the Nines in Portland, Oregon; the Fairmont in Boston; the Alluvian in Greenwood, Mississippi; and the Marriott and Hilton hotels in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. In 2004, Perkins was inducted into Hospitality Design magazine’s Platinum Circle.
