Roger Hill and Andrew Fay, founders of Chicago-based architecture and design practice the Gettys Group, have been named the 2019 Cornell Hospitality Innovators by the Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. Hill and Fay both graduated from Cornell in 1987.
“We are not only architects, designers, branding and procurement professionals—we are also hotel owners and investors. We help guide clients through their hotel projects from feasibility analysis to project completion,” Hill says. “Our many years of experience and extensive relationships throughout the hospitality industry allow us to navigate the geographic, physical, and economic factors that influence projects. By keeping our approach to each project flexible and nimble, we are able to respond quickly as project requirements change, keeping focus on the many things that matter most to our clients, their partners, and their guests.”
“At the Gettys Group, innovation means designing for tomorrow in a world where the pace of change continues to accelerate. Today, design is a strategic tool that sets brands apart and positions them for success,” adds Fay. “Our research-driven, guest-centric design approach enables our experience-based projects to win the hearts, minds, and wallets of travelers and locals alike.”
